FENS Associates began in May 1991 by Frank Apicella, Michael Norton and Michael L. Sforza in order to provide an experienced, aggressive and professional outlet by which agencies of the United States Federal Government and the Department of Defense could contract for the design, procurement, installation and service of Grade A quality contract furniture.

The goal of this organization is to develop a respected, attractive and profitable organization that will become the most successful and highly regarded entity of its kind in this country. The effort extended and the action taken to achieve this goal will be nurtured, examined and implemented with the unselfishness, energy and intelligence of all three general partners.

Following a successful foray in the mortgage brokerage industry Michael replaced Frank S. Apicella as the New England sales representative for Interior Elements, a dealer/representative group based in Maryland that developed a national GSA sales program. Very quickly Michael became the top sales person at this firm and remained so until he left to form Fens Associates. Michael has developed the New England territory as a strong sector for Fens Associates along with assisting in the development and growth of the company. He has been responsible for the establishment of various standards programs which Fens as a whole has benefited from. Michael resides in the popular neighborhood of South Boston.
